BACKGROUND

VEGF-A ( Vascular endothelial growth factor A) is a member of the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family and a potent mediator of angiogenesis and vasculogenesis in the fetus and adult. This growth factor induces proliferation and migration of vascular endothelial cells. VEGFa is then essential for both physiological and pathological and its expression is correlated with tumor stage and progression.
